I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
